Job Description

Large Non-Profit Christian Organization is in need of temporary help for annual mission project for the holiday season.  There are FOUR (4) Volunteer Placer openings.

Estimated length of assignment will be FOUR (4) weeks:  November 23rd - December 21st.   

MUST BE ABLE TO COMMIT TO DURATION OF ASSIGNMENT WITHOUT ABSENCE.  

HOURS:   Mondays - Saturdays: 

  • First shift:  8am - 3:45pm (minus 30 minute lunch:  7.25 hrs/day) - 2 openings
  • Second shift:  3pm - 10:30pm (minus 30 minute lunch:  7 hrs/day) - 2 openings
  • Mandatory OT:  3 -3.5 hrs/week
  • Sundays: OFF

 

SUMMARY
Responsible for working with the OCC Processing Center Floor Coordinator, Quality Control
Manager(s), and Floor Managers to implement the placement plan of volunteers within the Processing
Center.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sustain a strong and outgoing personality to represent Operation Christmas Child in a positive and
    helpful way for the temporary associates and thousands of volunteers that come to the OCC Processing
    Centers.
  • Take direction from the OCC Processing Center Floor Coordinator to deliver volunteers effectively to
    the designated area of service.
  • Work with OCC Processing Center Floor Managers and Quality Control Manager(s) to maintain a
    working knowledge of the open volunteer positions across all areas within the Processing Center to
    communicate changes or issues with the Floor Coordinator.
  • Assist in recruiting volunteers to serve in peripheral areas such as the Shoebox Hospital, GIK or
    Inappropriate Items as needed.
  • Must be multi-task oriented and display proven organizational skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One year certificate from a college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or
training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Restaurant Host/Hostess experience
preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
No certificates, licenses, or registrations are required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical
procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and
procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of
managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions,
percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or
diagram form. Ability to deal with issues involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
