Job Description

Large Non-Profit Christian Organization is in need of temporary help for annual mission project for the holiday season.  There are two (2) Drop-Off Coordinator openings.

Estimated length of assignment will be FOUR (4) weeks:  November 23rd - December 21st.   

MUST BE ABLE TO COMMIT TO DURATION OF ASSIGNMENT WITHOUT ABSENCE.  

HOURS:   Mondays - Saturdays: 

  • Second shift:  3pm - 10:30pm (minus 30 minute lunch:  7 hrs/day) - 1 opening
  • Mandatory OT:  3 -3.5 hrs/week
  • Sundays: OFF

 

SUMMARY
Responsible for facilitating and managing the collection of shoebox gifts from donors at the
Processing Center’s Drop-off Location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Work with the Processing Center Shipping/Receiving Manager to maintain consistent following
    of procedures for all aspects of the Processing Center Drop-off, which meets the standards and
    criteria developed for all Processing Centers.
  • Sustain a self-assured and hospitable personality to represent Operation Christmas Child in a positive
    and helpful way for the donors who come to drop off shoeboxes to the Processing Centers
  • Assist in the unloading of donated shoebox gifts, verify the count, and record the verified number of
    shoebox gifts on the Shoebox Drop-Off Log for all shoeboxes delivered to the Processing
    Center Drop-off. Donor information will also need to be documented on the Shoebox Drop-Off Log
    form.
  • Supervise Processing Center volunteers working in the Processing Center Drop-Off.
    5. Direct the movement of all shoeboxes collected in the  Processing Center Drop-off to the
    Processing Center backlog area for inspection.
  • Work alongside GIK Coordinator to ensure Gift-In-Kind donations are efficiently received through
    Processing Center Drop-Off and prepared for accounting by the Gift-In-Kind Coordinator.
  • Maintain flexibility in order to assist as needed in other areas of the Processing Center as
    directed by the Quality Control Manger.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly appearance in the Processing Center Drop-off.
  • Must be multi-task oriented and display proven organizational skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Will supervise 1-5 Processing Center Volunteers and carry out supervisory responsibilities in
accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training
volunteers, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving issues.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one
year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
No certificates, licenses, or registrations are required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical
procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and
procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of
managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions,
percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only
limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral,
diagram, or schedule form.

Additional Information

This is a supervisory role, but be able to direct a team of up to 5 volunteers and keep enthusiasm and energy up!  This role is really tasked with ensuring not only smooth operations, but an ENJOYABLE volunteer experience!!
